Virtualisation

Server and Desktop Virtualisation

Server Virtualisation

Server Virtualistion is the most efficient approach to server deployment. It means that you can run multiple servers from one box. This saves on the cost of new hardware and the cost to the environment. It also means that new servers can be added to an existing domain as and when necessary, without the need for further hardware procurement.

Desktop Virtualisation

RatwareUK have successfully used VMWare and Citrix XenDesktop to completely virtualise desktop environments in multiple organisations. Desktop Virtualisation or Desktop Streaming, allows RatwareUK to reduce the cost of desktop PC procurement, reduce the likelihood of desktop hardware/software faults and increase our support efficiency. Desktop Virtualisation also creates a more secure computing environment for all domain users, providing increased data protection for management and full system backup protection for administrators.

Thin Clients

Thin Client deployment is a popular addition to new virtual desktop domains. Thin clients are very small desktop PCs which run purely from flash memory. They receive their desktop environment and programs via desktop streaming. Running without a hard drive and with a low footprint, thin clients are a very popular choice for desktop streaming.
